A short, plain-language privacy note.

We try to collect as little as we can, tell you plainly what we do collect, and never claim a submission that did not actually happen. This note describes the current state of this website.

What you send us directly

When you use a form on this site (Help Desk interest, story submission, contact), you share whatever you type into the fields. Several of these forms currently open your email client rather than storing data on our servers — that is disclosed on the form itself.

We use what you send only to reply to you and to plan the work you asked about. We do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.

What stays on your device

Your accessibility preferences — contrast, text size, motion, and sound — are saved in your browser's local storage on this device. They are not sent to us. Clearing your browser data will reset them.

Third-party services

This site loads a small number of third-party assets to work well:

Google Fonts — for the Fraunces and Hanken Grotesk typefaces. Font requests go directly from your browser to Google's servers.
Hosting infrastructure — like any website, our host sees standard technical request logs (IP, user agent, timestamp) as part of serving pages to you.

We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site at this time. If that changes, this page will be updated to say so before it takes effect.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

You can ask us what we have on file about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to connect@openworlddesign.org or use the contact page.
